LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS
Gold Coast, Brisbane & Sunshine Coast
Founded in 2014 by artist Rebecca Cunningham at the Dust Temple on the Gold Coast, Life Drawing Sessions has grown from a small local event into one of Australia’s most sought-after life drawing experiences. Over the past 11 years, our sessions have been hosted at iconic venues including the Dust Temple, The Bearded Lady, Miami Marketta, The Junk Bar, Archive West End, and Mapleton Public House, bringing together artists, creatives, and beginners for evenings of immersive artistic practice.
At our social Life Drawing Sessions, we focus on the joy of the creative process rather than the outcome of your drawing. With live music and inspiring models, we provide a relaxed, inclusive environment suitable for all skill levels—from novice sketchers to experienced artists.
In addition to our regular life drawing events, we now offer private sessions, drawing classes, and long pose workshops. We are excited to announce that Life Drawing Sessions is expanding to include high-quality educational opportunities led by skilled artists from across Australia and around the world. These programs are designed to help participants refine their figure drawing, anatomy, and creative expression under expert guidance.
Life Drawing Sessions currently operates in multiple locations across Queensland:
Miami Marketta, Miami – Gold Coast
The Junk Bar, New Farm – Brisbane / Meanjin
Archive, West End – Brisbane / Meanjin
Mapleton Public House – Mapleton, Sunshine Coast
Whether you’re seeking a fun, social night of drawing or a more focused learning experience, Life Drawing Sessions offers a unique, creative space for artists of all levels to connect, learn, and create.
